Dish wash soap also contains a considerable amount of PH. PH is actually the measure of the H+ irons included in a particular solution and it indicates the acidic or the basic strength of it. The acidic solutions have a weaker pH, whereas basic solutions have a strong pH solution.

Having a healthy pH level is very important to keep our skin protected and healthy. However, if the pH level of your skin reduces (if it gets more acidic), the skin becomes oily and greeny. As a result of these, your skin may lose its elasticity and become rough. If the pH level is more alkaline, your skin becomes very dry, sensitive and it will not produce enough oil.

When it goes up from the PH value of 7 to 8,9,10,11,12,13 and 14, the basic strength of the solution goes up as well. So the PH levels that are higher than 7 is Alkaline. Humans, animals and even plants need a unique level of PH to survive.

The acidic rain has a lower PH rate of 5.6 and that why acid rain is a threat for the aquatic animals and plants. Too much acid created by our body could cause pain or irritation. So eating foods or using different lotions or creams that doesn’t have an appropriate PH level could harm our bodies.

The pH level of your dish soap must never go above 10.Make sure that it is in between 7 to 10. By selecting a dish soap that has a pH level of 7 or above, you may be able to clean your dishes and all as those pH levels are very effective on grease. But selecting a dish soap below 7 will not make your dishes bright or clean. Those products may also harm your skin as well.

People in different countries use various methods to test the pH levels of their body soaps, dish soaps as well as dish soap liquids. Some are very natural productions like turmeric solution and beetroot solution.

Here we bring you an easy method of checking the pH level of your dish soap

**REQUIREMENTS**

1.Distilled water.

2.pH test strips.

3.Red cabbage leaves

4.A blender

First, take some cabbage leaves (3 or 4) and chop them up. Get them well ground and strain the juice. Then put it into a cup of distilled water.

Next, you need to make a solution using distilled water. Get a cup of distilled water and add 1 % per cent of your soap into it.

(If there are 99 grams of water in the cup, you should add 1 gram of soap into it. Now dissolve the piece of soap in the water of your cup.

First, take a beaker, and put some of your cabbage liquid into it. Then add your soap solution into it. When you add the soap solution into the beaker, the liquid turns immediately into another colour. It may be red, green, pink or whatever. Now take the pH stripes and check the exact colour of your solution by placing the stripe (You must put the stripe into the solution first) on the colour table on the box of stripes. The exact pH colour of your soap solution will match with one colour on the striped box. The pH value belongs to each colour is there on the box.

  • If the solution is Orange or yellow, it is a weak acid which has a pH value in between 3 – 6.

  • If it is Green in colour, the pH level is 7 and it is neutral.

  • If the solution turns in to blue, the pH is a weak alkali and the pH value of it is in between 8 to 11.

  • If the solution is Violet or Indigo in colour, the solution is a strong alkali

However as we mentioned above, the pH value of your dish soap must be always above 7 and always below 10. If you find a piece of soap that exceeds the pH level of 10, do not throw it off. Keep it somewhere for about six weeks. Carbon dioxide in the air neutralizes it.
